About Kaspersky VPN Secure Connection

Kaspersky VPN Secure Connection is a consumer VPN offered by Kaspersky, the well-known security software vendor. The important structural fact here is that it isn't built on Kaspersky's own VPN infrastructure: it runs as a white-label product on the Hotspot Shield/Pango (Aura) platform. So while the brand and support come from Kaspersky, the underlying network and much of the technology originate elsewhere — a detail worth keeping in mind when you evaluate any privacy claim.

On jurisdiction, our database places Kaspersky in Russia (TIER_3), which is our lowest-confidence tier for privacy-sensitive users given the legal environment around data access. That reality is compounded by regulatory action abroad: as of September 2024, Kaspersky products were banned from sale in the United States by the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), and existing US customers were migrated to UltraAV. Consequently, no US pricing exists for this product, and any listed prices are non-US.

What the documents say about logging is mixed. Kaspersky states a no-logs policy and the product includes a kill switch, but the policy itself admits retaining device, subscription and network metadata — so "no logs" is not absolute. Critically, there is no independent audit of Kaspersky's own no-logs claims. Without third-party verification, those claims remain unverified in the strict sense: we can report what the policy says, not confirm what the servers do.

On pricing we have no officially verified plans in our data yet, so we won't quote figures we can't attribute. There is a documented 30-day money-back window.

We do not run a lab, so we publish no speed benchmarks or throughput numbers of our own; our Scout Score of 66 (privacy 60) reflects our documented-evidence methodology rather than in-house testing.

Who it fits: existing Kaspersky-ecosystem users outside the US who want a convenient add-on and aren't relying on the VPN for high-stakes anonymity. Who should skip it: privacy-critical users who need an audited no-logs claim, anyone in the US (where it can't be sold), and those uncomfortable with a Russian-jurisdiction brand running on third-party white-label infrastructure without independent verification.
